Venkatesh InterView about Body Guard

Hero Venkatesh says he is not going the Salman Khan way for the Telugu remake of 'Bodyguard'

The Hindi version of your upcoming film "Bodyguard" has already been telecast on TV, so do you think your film will stand a chance at the Tollywood BO?
"Bodyguard" is not a frame to frame copy of the original Malayalam film, nor does it have much in common with the Hindi version. I strongly believe that if a film has a good storyline, there will always be repeat watches in any language. For example, "Chanti" was a blockbuster in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi despite the three hitting the marquee one after the other.

Salman Khan had taken off his shirt in "Bodyguard", will you do the same?

I am not taking off my shirt. Manaki antha scene ledu! (I don't think I can pull it off... ) (laughs)

Your next film with Mahesh Babu has created a lot of buzz.

Yes, both Mahesh and I are eagerly waiting for "Sitamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" to start. Mahesh is an intense actor and his comic timing is amazing. I am sure the film will kick start the multi-starrer trend in the Telugu film industry.

What about your dream project "Vivekananda"?
We are still in the research process. Vivekananda and his teachings have been a great inspiration to me, so I really want to give it my best, even if it takes a little longer than usual. Right now, I am busy with "SVSC" and after that I am doing an action-entertainer with Meher Ramesh.

There is news that you are planning to do a sequel to the 1990 blockbuster "Bobbili Raja"...I am interested in doing a sequel to the film with Rana in the lead and myself playing a key role. "Bobbili Raja" was the first T-wood film to use animated characters and the sequel too will put to good use the latest technology.

Your nephew Rana has turned out to be a true crossover actor, working both in Bollywood and Kollywood apart from Tollywood...
Rana, even as a kid, was always enterprising. He is passionate about films. He loves to travel and I am happy that he is moving beyond the confines of the Telugu film industry.

Do you have plans to introduce your son, Arjun, as a child artiste?

Arjun is just nine years old and he loves watching movies. "Karate Kid" is his favorite movie. He keeps asking me to make a movie with him as the Karate Kid and me playing Jackie Chan's role! But that's just a wish, right now, he has to concentrate on his studies.
